2 Bicycles stolen in Teele

All,

I don't have much hope of seeing them again, but figured it was worth posting to remind everyone how easily it can happen. I had 2 bicycles stolen from my garage last night or today. 

I am attaching a picture of them, it isn't the best quality, but is all I could dig up on short notice. (The Cervelo is safe... she is an inside bike and never sleeps far from me)

Bike1 - Red Gary Fisher Sugar Mtn Bike: 

• Stickers are all removed and the fork is blue. 
• The hubs are Chris King and make an unmistakable sound while coasting. I will miss that sound :-(  
• I have an extremely close bond to this bike. It has taken me over the Rockys many times, if I see it while driving down the road, I will abandon my car to chase the thief down.

Bike2 - Blue Novara Hybrid:

• Fairly stock except for the removal of the kickstand

I live in a multi tenant building. My guess is that someone left a side entrance open.

Ah sorry, I left that part out in my haste.

I usually have them locked to each other and locked to a very thick cable around a post. This was 100% my fault for not locking them one night.

There is a difference between there being things you could have done to prevent another's (moral) fault, and the fault being yours. My sympathies.

Agree 100%. Leaving the bikes unlocked was your error, but certainly not your fault.

as a bike shop owner and frequent bike swap meet attendant, i'll look out - but chances are mighty slim. i feel for you, how awful :( i got my schwinn town and country 1960's adult trike stolen a few years ago. people are assholes.

If you have the serial numbers of the bikes, it'd be worth calling the local shops with them.
