My partner and I are trying to get an idea of the interest in a co-working space in Davis Sq.   Are there enough people out there who could use a co-working space? Is there a latent need? Are there enough people to keep a space running here in Davis Sq?  Are there office space owners who would be interested in exploring what co-working might mean?  

Our goal is to create an affordable space which offers at least the following:

Affordability: ~$200/Month per a person for full time use  ~$100/Month for part-time use.

24/7 access

Phone booth for private phone calls

Conference rooms with data projectors.

Ultra high speed internet

Use of our address as your business address.  Get notified via email when you receive a package.  

Fully stocked kitchen with food and drinks – yogorts, fruits, soft drinks, snacks, and cold beverages

Copier, Printer, & Fax

Storage lockers for your belongings. 

We are exploring a space within a 4minute walk of the Davis Sq T.  This particular space has great natural light via numerous skylights.  It is about 3200sqft.

While I could not use it on a monthly-pay basis, there might be days I would pay for a half-day of use on a drop-in basis. I currently buy a sandwich and coffee to "rent" a table at Diesel, then pay for internet on top of that. If I could bring my own sandwich and coffee and pay some amount to go use a "common space" occasionally, I might do that.

I wouldn't expect that this model would actually pay for the space in anyway, but if you get enough full-time tenants to make it work, and have room to set up a common area, you might pick up a little more incidental income this way.

I'd be amazed -- in a positive way! -- if you could cover expenses at those prices.
I have certainly been interested in a co-working space like that in the past and, while I don't need one today, agree that Davis is ripe for such a plan. Best of luck!
