Suneri to close this weekend and new store opening

Hey y'all:

I apologize if this has been posted before, but it looks like Suneri is closing on Sunday the 16th (this Sunday). They're having a "Final Sale" all weekend, and according to their email, merchandise is up to 80% off.

Also, it looks like a new store will be opening in its place in October: whats-nu. You can learn more at www.whats-nu.biz. As a very, very passing glance, it looks like a store front for local artists? Or for an artists' collective? Does anyone have any more info?

Some info in this Patch article. There appears to be some continuity between the closing store and the new one that is replacing it.

Oh, how outrageously awesome that would have been. Is there any such thing (using a storefront) and, if not, how might one go about rounding up some support for such an endeavor? I've had this crazy idea for a few weeks, now (at least), and have the very location in mind...
