Usually there's one of those pop-up seasonal costume stores in Davis, but... there isn't one this year, right? I haven't lost my ability to see them, have I? Is there one nearby-ish? I don't want to trek all the way downtown if I can help it. (I have way too much costume sewing left to do!)

Edited to add: I'm looking specifically for a Merida wig. My attempts at dying and curling my daughter's hair have failed. My towels, on the other hand, may never be the same.

Thanks

Haven't seen one in Davis or Porter or anywhere else I usually go. Too bad, as there are a number of vacant places it could easily have gone...

There's a Spirit Halloween Superstore at the corner of Mystic and Harvard in Medford. (282 Mystic Avenue, to be specific). I haven't been inside, but I drive by it on my way to work.

Also, not Halloween-specific, but there is an iParty store at the Meadow Glen Mall in Medford just a couple of blocks from there (in the same plaza as the Kohl's).

Isn't there a year-round costume shop within walking distance of central? Would be closer than downtown.

that's Boston Costume, which used to be in downtown Boston, but is now part of The Garment District, 200 Broadway in Cambridge. If you're taking the T, it's a little closer to Kendall than to Central.

Thank you!!

When we went last year hunting for costume pieces, we walked from Central. Good to know there's a T-stop slightly closer. :D

Some buses from Kendall Square (CT2, 64, 68, 85) will get you even closer, in case you have really heavy stuff to carry. These do not run at night or on weekends, though.

It's not super convenient, but if you get desperate, they have actual Merida wigs at the Disney Store in the Square One Mall on Route 1.
