Does anyone know of any organizations other than the Furniture Bank that will come pick up furniture to be donated? (Nothing against the Furniture Bank; they're booked until after my move date). Thanks!
Wow, what a great link! I hadn't seen this before. I have a lot of books I would love to donate as well.
I use Vietnam Vets of America, one of the orgs listed here, and they're very reliable and easy--just make the appointment on their website, put the bags out in the morning, and voila!
In Medford, Waste Management (the company that does the garbage pickup) will pick up furniture from curbside for free, but you have to call and make an appointment. The number is on the City's website. I do not know whether Somerville has a similar service.
You do have to be able to get the furniture out of the house on your own, which may be problematic. Hopefully one of the other options mentioned here will work for you if that is the case.
