So, is it just me, or have other people had this experience?

I call in an order for take-out; I am told it will be ready in 15 (or 20, or 25) minutes. So, 15, or 20, or whatever minutes later, but never earlier than they say, I show up. They ask what I'm there for, and I repeat my order. Then I wait for another 10 to 30 (!!) minutes while they put the whole thing together. And it's not like they are crazy-busy on these occasions, either - at most (the additional 30 minute wait) they've had 3 tables of customers there. It's like they either deliberately ignore the call-in orders until I show up, or they forget them or something. I don't get it. And I don't have this experience with other places I call for take-out.

This happens at least 9 times out of 10. But when my SO places the order, it is ready on time.

Fusion Express just takes 12 million years to do anything. I went there for lunch w/co-workers one day, we were the only people in the restaurant, and it took 30+ minutes to get our food!

I once came very close to walking out without paying, when they took almost an hour to bring the check after we were clearly done. (I couldn't even get the attention of the (one) server to ask him!)

Are you a dickwad on the phone? I'm not implying anything, but I know that I try to exert as much consciously directed politeness as possible and I've never had problems with pick-up.

"If you could be so kind as to fulfill this worthless request, oh great and wonderful provider of pad thai, this, your humble servant, would be grateful forever, and recommend you to all my friends, and even strangers in the street!"
thank you. that was fabulously hilarious to read.

They suck.

i wonder if its owned by family, which often leads to the help wishing they could put forks in their eyes instead of working in the family business.

Yeah, i've eaten there once in the past 4 years. Oh, ha!, and that time there was a cd playing that - literally - was some horrible generic funk tune with the lyrics "....can i get a little foreplay...."

Just say no to Fusion "express." Their fusion of bad service and good food is almost as frustrating and unpleasant as jazz fusion (which you know, blows).
