Highland Ave. Plowing
Dec. 29th, 2012 11:58 pmThey've definitely plowed, but since no one is salting or sanding, the roads are ridiculously treacherous for just 3-4 inches of snow. Can someone figure out who to talk to in order to make the roads less dangerous?

Date: 2012-12-30 05:49 am (UTC)Is this a street in Somerville or Cambridge? I don't see it on my map...Ignore this comment, as post was subsequently edited.I just finished biking from Sullivan Square to Davis Square. Major roads like Somerville Ave seemed reasonably well plowed. Small streets like Orchard Street, less so.
ETA: If your Somerville street is still bad this morning, definitely call 311.

Date: 2012-12-31 12:47 am (UTC)Last night around midnight, I biked on the part of McGrath from Pearl south to Washington. Like the other streets I used, it was somewhat slushy, but passable. (I'm sure it's much better now.)

Date: 2013-01-04 03:06 am (UTC)There was about a 1/2 inch of snow, slush, and ice on the ground. It may have looked clear but it wasn't at all; there was next-to-no traction at low speeds or high speeds. Most of the time, I was worried about crashing into a parked car. I had two passengers in the car who can back me up.
