So, I love DSLJ, but what are similar online groups to Davis_Square but for other towns around Boston?

I know about b0st0n on LJ, of course, and /r/boston on reddit. There's the Porter Square Neighborhood association mailing list, which is largely development focused.

And so far I've found these:

Newton Parents

Arlington List

Lexington List
JP Moms

Ron told me about Medford List.  Know of any others? Weston? Wellesley? Quincy

Quincy has [livejournal.com profile] quincy_ma here on LJ, though it's not very posty.

The [livejournal.com profile] davis_square profile page has links to a number of other local LJ communities, but none of them are very active anymore.

[livejournal.com profile] cambridge_mass,[livejournal.com profile] centralsquare, and [livejournal.com profile] mbta get posts from time to time. They can only get busier if people are encouraged to use them.

I started one for Magoun Square and can add anyone that is interested in joining. Also, does anyone have the contact for the Porter Square Neighborhood Association? One of my readers was asking.

Can you post the link to the Magoun Square list?

On the sidebar on /r/Massachusetts I've listed some other area subreddits, and the Boston subreddit also has a "New England" multireddit link in their sidebar.

Are you the moderator for Reddit in Massachusetts? How does one see the list of moderators? That page says "If you would like your MA-related subreddit to be featured here, send a message to the mods!", but doesn't say how to send such a message.

Yep.

Farther down in the sidebar there's a list of moderators, and more importantly a small "message the moderators" link.

It says the moderators are phyzome, Somerville, "and 2 more", but no matter how many times I click on the "and 2 more" link, it doesn't show me the other two moderators.

Somerville is my "flair", a tag I added to my username within that reddit.

The "2 more" is a bug in reddit. Presumably it's from past moderators who have since deleted their accounts or been banned.

You included http://www.reddit.com/r/Cambridge but that appears to be for Cambridge England, not Cambridge MA.

Nope! It's for both (all?) Cambridges. :-)

How active are these?

I can only speak for my own (Powderhouse - which is oddly named because it spans all the way down to Benton & Summer), which is still fairly quiet, but I've been seeing a little increase in users and activity in the past couple of weeks, so it may start to pick up. I hope that it does - seems like a good neighborhood resource.

Thanks. How can I see a map of all the NextDoor 'neighborhoods' ? Never mind, found the Somerville map here.
