Craft stores
Jul. 1st, 2005 11:36 amAre there any craft stores accessible by public transit in Somerville? I'm not referring to knitting/sewing supplies, but more like pipe cleaners, stuffing, googly eyes, wire, wood, etc.? Random stuff like that.
Relatedly, does the Target in Somerville have such crafty stuff?

Date: 2005-07-01 03:54 pm (UTC)I'm rather sorry that the one local AC Moore (in Everett, I think) burned down before I moved to Somerville--I mean, it's a pretty artsy area, you think they'd have another one nearby.

Date: 2005-07-04 05:53 am (UTC)I really don't know...it looked just closed to me, and when I mentioned it to a friend, they mentioned something about a fire. Could have been confused.
Either way, Michael's, while nifty, doesn't carry the kind of stuff I go to AC Moore for, sadly. I end up making the trip to Natick occasionally. Though that last trip--mostly to get small cows for the trebuchet--could have been fulfilled at Michael's, I guess.

Date: 2005-07-04 06:03 am (UTC)one third of the whole assembly square property was just sold this past spring. (http://lists.somerville.ma.us/pipermail/assemblysq/2005-March/000018.html) the article mentions the adjacent ikea property.
