I second the recommendation for Tyler at Paramount. He's excellent and can explain bike-parts even to the non-mechanically initiated. Also, he's not patronizing.
Ditto on the "not patronizing." Much better customer service at Paramount than the very busy Wheelworks (though I've gotten good tune-ups at both places).
I *did not* like Ace at all the only two times I went (both times last year). Ended up with a missing reflector (whcih I didn't notice right away), my seat collapsed down a few inches while riding, and a few other petty annoyances. Most recently, I went to that place on Mass Ave (by Elephant Walk) - was cheaper and no complaints.
