Closed/Cancelled or Open/On ?

Rather than all of us continuing to post separately about what's open/on and what's closed/cancelled, please comment here so that everyone has a place they can check for information.

The closing reception of the Nave Gallery Annex's PICNIC exhibit, originally scheduled for tonight, will now be Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. (The Nave Annex is next door to Redbones on Chester Street.)

Temple B'nai Brith has cancelled Friday night and Shabbat morning services. Check their web page for information on Sunday events.

If folks with afternoon tickets want to go to the evening show instead, those tickets will be honored.

Oasis Brazilian in Medford opened at 11, and will close "around 3." The buffet is open.

Bella Ravioli "lives around the block" and will stay open "until we feel like going home."

Cambridge Naturals is closed, says they will be open late Saturday "call for hours".
Porter Sq Books closed says 12-7 Sat but "call for hours.

I didn't really *need* sprinkles, of course. :) It was mostly an excuse to go out (and it is in fact lovely walking weather).

I wanted to get shells for stuffed shells and ended up going to Pembertons, which didn't have them, so I got lasagna noodles instead. Close enough, right? (Also got spinach since I was there. And coconut water to drink on the way home.)

I thought I saw a sign saying Porter Square books was closed at 2:00 PM when I walked by at around 1:00 PM. Shaws had the longest lines I've ever seen at a grocery store with each register at least 20 people deep.

I went to the Fresh Pond Trader Joe's at 2 and the lines were short (and usually they have crazy lines). I guess maybe people were indoors by then?

Mike's was still open when I walked by a few minutes ago. They don't know when they're going to close -- certainly didn't look like they were wrapping up anytime soon.

Five Horses said they would be open until at least four and then play it by ear. They suspected it would be at least 7pm though.

Most everything else in Davis appeared closed.

Davis Squared closed at 2:30 today. I was at Flatbread earlier and they said they were staying open til 11:30 tonight.

Shaw's in Porter Square closed at 3pm. Across the parking lot, CVS announced they would be closing at 3:30pm, but the cashiers seemed to think they would remain open.

CVS (in Porter) is definitely open and showed no sign of closing. I was just there (5:15pm).

Diesel is also open. CVS and Rite Aid in Davis are closed.

The Stop&Shop across from Foss Park was open as of 15 minutes ago and fairly calm. I didn't think to ask how late they were planning to stay open.

This weather sucks for people with chronic illness too. Check in with your friends. I know I'm feeling it already.

In case of power outages or other issues you might want to check out Zappix App for android. It has menus for all your customer service info including red cross, airlines, power and internet companies and gets you right to customer service. That way you don't have to waste batteries googling. http://www.zappix.com/ (http:/www.zappix.com) but fingers crossed for no power outages!

One thing I've been wondering about is what happens if you need to go to the hospital. Are you forced to call an ambulance? :-/

6:30 pm Davis Square recon report

I took a walk around the Davis Square business district. These are open:

Bars/Restaurants: Orleans, Mike's, Burren, Joshua Tree, Sligo

Fast food: Diesel Cafe (closes at 8 pm), Amsterdam Falafelshop (open until at least 8 pm, playing it by ear after that)

Retail stores: Downtown Wine & Spirits, Tedeschi's, 7-Eleven (Mass Ave @ Day St)

CVS and Rite Aid are closed. CVS has a sign saying that if you need a 24-hour pharmacy, go to their Porter Square store.

I did not walk beyond Davis Square, so someone else will need to report on Teele, Ball, Porter, Union, or other parts of town.
