Where do you buy your fish?

Is there some hidden fishmonger in or around West Somerville or otherwise nearby? I know there are some places in Cambridge up near the courthouse but I don't get up that way in my usual travels. Whole Foods is somewhat nearby but I prefer not to give them my custom.

The Fishmonger on Huron Avenue is excellent, though pricey. I've had good luck with buying fish at the Reliable Market in Union Square, though language barriers can be an issue.

Captain Boston, at the intersection of Harvard St and Main St in Medford (only a half mile from the Powderhouse rotary) is excellent.

I snag some very nice fish at Dave's Fresh Pasta on Thursday and Friday.

I haven't been able to make it there yet, but I have gotten several recommendations for Fresh Pond Seafood from friends. It's in arlington, but not too far from W Somerville.

If you don't mind waiting to shop once a week, we love Jordan Brothers Seafood at the Winter Farmers Market this time of year and at the Union Square Farmers Market in the summer. The fish they sell is always delicious and the scallops in particular are the best we've ever had!

Jumping in to second the Somerville Beat suggestion of Jordan Brothers Seafood. I believe they are also at the Union Square Market, as well.

Whole Foods seafood is very good, especially when you factor in weekly specials.
