Anyone know what the trailer is for at the Ceder Street end of the Bike Path? It seems to have popped up recently. Sort of odd that a construction trailer would be on public property like that.

Could it be preparation for the extension of the path to Lowell Street?

That is right.

I posted this posting on the Friends of the Community Path facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/FriendsoftheCommunityPath

They posted this response:
"
This Cedar-to-Lowell CPX section will be built from roughly this May through September, Hooray! More soon when we have the details.

A staffer at the City of Somerville says :"Yes, that is a MDR's construction trailer. We are on our way to the first extension of the community path in 19 years!"
"

Official groundbreaking is next Monday, May 13 at 6 pm. Probably right in front of that trailer.

Any chance they resurface the Willow/Cedar section?

Particularly just eastish of Willow, the path is poorly leveled, collects water, and seems to have taken a beating over the past winter.

I'd suggest a quick call to 311 to tell them just that. While I know a lot of Somerville's finest cruise this forum, giving them the feedback to document is most likely the best way to get results!
