seeking apartment July 1
May. 5th, 2013 08:45 pmOur apartment is being converted to condos so we need to move by July 1. We are a couple in our mid 20s with good rental references and credit and would like to live in Somerville, Medford, Cambridge area. We would appreciate any leads or suggestions on finding a new place. Thanks!

Date: 2013-05-07 09:38 pm (UTC)The apt is a gorgeous 2-bed, 2-bath, 1200 sq ft apartment with huge windows, great natural light, exposed brick, high ceilings, and hardwood floors throughout. Parking space in lot behind building; in-unit laundry; washer/dryer and dishwasher <1 year old and gas stove <3 years old; good-sized storage area in basement. Lots of closet and cabinet space. Current rent is $2250/month and includes heat, hot water, and gas. Electricity is usually ~$30/month.
It's in North Cambridge halfway between Davis and Alewife (~10 min walk to either), right off Mass Ave, and literally right next to the bike path that runs from Davis to Alewife and becomes the Minuteman Bike Path farther west. It's a 35 min walk to Harvard, or a 10-15 min bus ride (77 bus runs until after 1am), in a really nice, safe residential neighborhood with some good restaurants on Mass Ave nearby.
Landlords are a married couple (Yuling and Steve Duff) who are very reasonable; they just own and rent the one unit (it's a building of condos, a few of which are rented).
Over the years I've mostly had one roommate, but for a while had two, and there was more than enough room for all three of us. The master bedroom is 208 sq ft (plus the master bath) and the second bedroom is 132 sq ft. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all one big beautiful open room that's about 750 sq ft.
If you're potentially interested and/or would like to see the apartment, please email Yuling Duff at yulingat@yahoo.com, and just let her know that you heard about the apartment from Kate (me). Also feel free to message me back with any questions about the apartment or the neighborhood.
Cheers,
Kate
