Sorry all, this event has been unfortunately postponed until the Fall.
Musical chameleon Tim Eriksen may be "one of the world's finest folk practitioners" (Toronto Star) and, according to T Bone Burnett "one of the best singers in music," but he's also a wicked electric guitar player who cut his teeth playing hardcore punk in the early 1980s, with the legendary proto-grunge band Cordelia's Dad, and eventually as the lone American in an East African gospel group. For the first time Eriksen will bring together some of the many phases of his musical career- traditional American and world folksong, his own compositions and improvisations- in a solo performance for voice and electric guitar. Think Bob Mould meets Martin Carthy at Boubacar Traore's birthday party.
This Thursday, 7-10 pm, at the Armory, as part of the Arts at the Armory program. 191 Highland Ave.
You can check out his website here as well.
Hope to see you there!
