I heard a rumor that the old Powder House Community School has finally been sold. Has anyone heard this? I know the city received six bids and wonder which one they went with.
May I ask where you heard the rumor? I know something was mentioned on a Facebook group dedicated to reminiscing about the city, but I find that a lot of what is posted in those groups is not fact-checked. (I'm phrasing it as nicely as I can.)
Six developers submitted proposals to the City's RFP. The Powderhouse School Technical Advisory Committee has interviewed the developers and reviewed the proposals and is working on their recommendation to the Mayor, which I believe will become a public document once it's released. The mayor will then enter negotiations with the developer of his choice. Once he has come to agreement on a contract with the developer, the board of aldermen will have a chance to vote on the contract. I can't remember the current timeline, other than that we're behind that proposed in the RFP.
