I know this is a bit of an insane request, but I'm having trouble finding something. I really really really want some properly delicious british-style crumpets. And alas, I can't find any stores in the Davis Sq area that carry them. I've seen gross "english muffiny" things that claimed to be crumpets but very much weren't. And one bakery tried to sell me regular muffins as crumpets. And another confused crumpets and scones. So my question is....
Where can I get delicious crumpets in the Davis area?

Date: 2005-07-21 07:42 pm (UTC)Anybody with even a functioning brain stem would know that at around 5:00-7:00 every day, the masses will come home on the T or in their cars, and before going to their homes in Porter/Davis (one of the most densely populated areas EVER :) they will want groceries.
Somehow, this little tidbit escapes them, and rather than having their staff man the registers so we can all get our Ben & Jerry's, hamburger buns and pickles and GO HOME they run 2 or 3 registers and allow lines of ridiculous proportions to build up.
That, and they've had some of the most patently rude and evil cashiers I've ever seen in my life.
But yeah, I agree, it's also bad juju :)
