Lost driver's license in Davis Sq plaza ("statue park") this evening, during Second Line performance

"I was in Davis Square tonight and saw the Second Line Brass Band playing tonight and was standing pretty close to you. Anyway, I had my driver's license in my pocket and think that I dropped it when I pulled out some money to donate when they were passing the bucket. I figured that I'd touch base to see if you happened to see it or if you could mention it on Live Journal?"

Best thing to do is to have the other person go and get a new license and to also report the loss to the police.

Best thing for the "finder" of a license to do is to give it to the police.

I could go on and on about identity fraud but simply put, just cover yourself "now" even if it hasn't happened "yet".

If I find a driver's license, I'll first try to find contact info for that person online, then if that fails, I'll snail-mail it to the street address on the license.

(While I was looking for this guy's license last night, I found someone else's wallet, and it had enough information in it to allow me to return it to its owner.)

This is an aside, but whenever we find someone's credit card or debit card on the ground (happens more often than you would think) we call the customer service number on the back and report that we found it and it should be cancelled. Then we tear/cut it up and dispose of it. ...

If it's a local bank, I'd just bring it to one of their branches, as I figure the owner would rather get his card back than have to report it lost and get another one.
