Hey Davis, help me out! I'm on a search to find a decent swimmable freshwater lake within a 30-40 minute drive of the Boston/Somerville area. Preferably I'm looking for something with free parking that's fairly quiet and allows for real swimming (unlike Breakheart Reservation, which I visited today and they don't let you swim past a small roped-off area with water that didn't even come to my waist, lame). Also I'd prefer it to have been tested/treated this season. Any ideas? Any secret lakes you know of? Or not so secret? Thanks for the help!

Walden is my favorite too (was just there tonight!) $5 to park though, or $35 for a season pass. It's about 30 minutes away depending on where you live. I'm just outside of Ball Square and it takes me the half hour.
