On-call plumber

Any recommendations for a last-minute plumber in Somerville or Cambridge that would answer the phone on a Sunday?

My kitchen sink is overflowing spontaneously, possibly related to a different unit in the building. Disposal drains it but then it spurts back! Not sewage... but also doesn't appear to be a clog.

Landlord and management company are not responsive. :/

EDIT: Landlord gave the green light to call a plumber before there were any comments here, so I ended up calling Alewife Company based on their good yelp reviews. They diagnosed that the main building drain was clogged and referred me to Crystal Clear Drains. Basically when units above us used their kitchen water, it was draining into our sink. Crystal Clear arrived in about an hour and took care of it!

We had Sergio's Renovations deal with an emergency shower situation just before Thanksgiving a few years ago. They did prompt and outstanding work. Can't tell you about Sunday, but the holiday didn't pose a problem for us. Sorry about your sink and the unresponsiveness :(

I've seen that happen in a commercial building. Someone washed a catering tray of rice down the sink, and it expanded and clogged the vent stack so badly they were talking about cutting out a section of the pipe. (I hope it's nothing so involved in your case!) The disposal would push water into and *up* the stack, against gravity, and then it would drain back into the sink once the disposal turned off.

Moynihan Plumbing (http://moynihanplumbingandheating.com/ - 617-861-5029) rescued me on a Sunday evening when my boiler was pouring water all over the basement. He's located in Somerville and arrived quickly. His services aren't the cheapest around by any means, but I've used him more than once and never felt like I was being ripped off.

I called Big Blue for a clog and they subbed it out to Drain Doctor. So it seems as if most plumbers pass this work off to the drain cleaning folks. I assume that the plumber marks up the cost somewhat so in the future I simply call Drain Doctor.

Not on a Sunday, but Winter Hill Plumbing was able to come out the same afternoon to deal with a small leak that thankfully was almost literally "a lead pipe cinch."
