Open studios and craft markets all over Somerville next weekend, 12/7-8

Mimi Graney of Union Square Main Streets has posted a list of open studios and craft markets happening all over Somerville next weekend, December 7-8.

Open Studios are at Artisan's Asylum, Washington Street Art Center, Mudflat, and Vernon Street Studios.
Craft markets are at Precinct in Union Square, Brooklyn Boulders, and the Armory.

Harvard Book Store Winter Warehouse Sale, 14 Park St in Somerville, Saturday and Sunday 12/7-8, 10 am - 6 pm.

NOCA Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Show, 66 Sherman St in North Cambridge, Sunday 12/8, 12-5 pm.

Opening reception for Brickbottom Gallery's show "(chain reaction)", Sunday 12/8, 3-5 pm

Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair at The Loft, 438 Somerville Ave, Sunday 12/8, noon to 6 pm

Unlike all the others, you have to pay to attend that one. That's probably why Mimi left it out.

And I really don't understand the concept of paying $10 more to get in an hour earlier.

You are paying to get first pick of all the handmade items, and you are paying not to shop in a total mob scene. Since this particular event is new, I don't know if it will be a mob scene or not.

Boston's Bazaar Bizarre did this every year because people waited in line to get in at noon and it was very crowded for a good chunk of the day. By paying $10, you got in an hour earlier and there were no more than 100 tickets sold for that hour, so it wasn't a crazy mob scene.

There is also a Vendor and Craft Night at West Somerville Neighborhood School on Friday, December 6 between 6 and 8pm
