Just FYI, Just Energy sales rep was ringing doorbells in my neighborhood (East Arlington) tonight. It's the usual scam: he strongly implied he was with NStar; led me to believe he was an NStar rep checking for irregularities in my bill; flat out lied when I asked if he was selling something. I didn't open the door because he pinged all my BS radars and I vaguely recalled the post last month. (Thanks, DSLJ!)

I'm making a new post because this guy strongly implied he was with NStar. He answered questions about whether he was with NStar evasively ("We're a company contracting with NStar," while gesturing to the clipboard in his hand that had an NStar bill on it. And yes, he was hard to get off the porch.

Ha! These guys came around to my place a few months ago. I managed to kick them out, then through the open apartment window I faked a very loud phone call to the cops. That sent them away pretty fast...

Hmmm...wondering if NStar should be contacted about this.

I wonder what would happen if you pulled out a camera to take a photo of the guy. (I mean, yes, this might not be safe, I realize, but it might also prompt the guy to rapidly flee.)

It might be worth reporting your experience to the AG. This is how other states finally got their act together to ban them from doing business.

My friend Jason in Somerset had them come to his door a few days ago. In Somerset, they are claiming to be affiliated with National Grid. So they apparently just claim affiliation with whichever electricity provider is dominant in the city/town they're scamming in that day.

The Boston police list them as a scam (https://www.facebook.com/BostonPoliceDepartment/posts/10151174495242685) and asks people to report any instances of Just Energy solicitations in Boston city limits.

Jason found a Weymouth police alert (http://www.weymouth.ma.us/index.php/national-grid-bulletin/) as well (which confirms that Just Energy is definitely not affiliated with National Grid).

If they claim they can do an energy audit, Mass Save (http://www.masssave.com/) is the legit place to look.
