Some parking lots requiring resident stickers?

I heard that during the big snow storm last winter some of the Somerville emergency parking lots were requiring resident parking stickers to park. Can anyone speak to this? Is it official, or just a parking attendant abusing their authority? Which lots are most/least likely to do this?

Oh, nevermind - I figured it out. I've got facebook.com blocked in this browser, so the browser helpfully changed the link to something that worked - this page. clever firefox... i guess?
