Unity Oil Fund

Unity Somerville has just let me know that they've fallen behind on their oil bill by a couple thousand dollars and are soliciting contributions to help them catch up. I know that this is in part because of the very low rent they charge Theatre@First and other community groups for the use of their space. I've chosen to help them, in thanks for what they offer our wider community. If you'd like to do the same, please visit their website and click on "Contribute". It is just a suggestion and idea, which is possibly something they have looked into already, but maybe they can look into a free energy evaluation. Since they are an organization and also receive electricity through a local provider the companies usually supply free evaluations to their customers-even private companies will do an energy review for free. I know there oil situation is something they are dealing with currently and cannot be ignored but from the stand point of having their oil last longer- or even have a conversion to natural gas be an option for them in the future. After rebate a few years back it cost me only $800 to do blow-insulation on my very large 2 family home.
