Somerville Brownie troop #66099 will be selling Girl Scout cookies at the Porter Square Star Market on Sunday, Feb 2 from 10am-4pm (or until we run out of cookies)  $4/box.  They make a great Super Bowl snack!

Oh, my, I bought the lemon ones this year for the first time. It's a good thing I don't have access to these year round. {and nobody tell me if there's a similar brand, I don't want to know}

Unfortunately, we won't have the Gluten Free cookies at the booth. It was a pilot program this year, and the ordering process was different for booths vs. order forms. I hope they add them to the order form next year so they are easier for the troop to get!

From what I have been able to learn, Girl scout cookies are loaded with high fructose corn syrup. Which is a shame because I used to love those chocolate peanut butter things...

I'm not claiming the cookies are healthy, but HFCS is listed in the "less than 2%" portion of the ingredient label of the Peanut Butter Patties. They're not "loaded" with HFCS. They're loaded with plain old fashioned sugar, the #1 ingredient!
