Is there a snow emergency in Somerville? I called the number on the website and got info for last week. I need to be in town all day and I don't want to get towed!

If so, they've been being uncharacteristically quiet about it. School wasn't canceled, though, which makes it pretty definite (since they have to use the school parking lots for overflow parking).

Nope, or if so, they haven't told anyone about it. I usually get a phone call, two emails and a text at minimum from their autobot.

Tom Champion usually comes to bang on my door as well, just to make sure I know.

And don't forget about the flashing lights in the major intersections.

Nope. No snow emergency.

I suspect they didn't want to call yet another snow day for the schools. The lack of plowing made for an exciting school pick-up this afternoon.

I posit that this afternoon did constitute a snow emergency, it just wasn't recognized as such by the city. Took three times as long to drive on the unplowed streets.
