Hey kids, it seems like porchfest has snuck up on me this year. Isn't it usually in June, and have a little more advertising preceding it? Anyway I guess it's today and I can't seem to be able to get on the Somerville Arts Council's website. Anyone know where I can find a schedule of bands online? Thanks!

Good luck...I was just coming here to post that the entire SAC site seems to be down, or, more accurately, it's "Forbidden" to us plebes. Um, guys? One of your big events is today, and no one can get a map to where the various bands are playing?!? Not OK at all.

There's a message on their Facebook page stating: "Hi folks, Due to high traffic and people leaving their mobile apps open, there is a website error. If you have already check the site and know where you are going, please close out. The issue should be fixed in a short while. Thanks" posted at 12:08 pm. So they know and are working on it. There were various article published this week with partial listings - google for them.

Here's the general schedule from the Somerville Beat web site: Listen to the sounds of Somerville at Saturday’s PorchFest, a decentralized music festival taking place throughout the city from noon-6 p.m. The free event moves across Somerville in waves starting with the streets in the east running to Central Street from noon-2 p.m., then moving to between Central Street and Willow Avenue from 3 p.m.-4 p.m. and then heading west of Willow Avenue from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Hope this helps!

Agreed on all counts. I didn't have the map and just haphazardly walked home from the library and caught 3 terrific sites.

People singing and dancing in the streets on a gorgeous spring day. This is why I live here.

this reply is too late to do much good, but Porchfest has always been in mid-May. (where "always" means the three previous ones)

the SAC had the same problem with their website last year the day before Porchfest! I'm glad I printed out my list last night. (I couldn't figure out a good way to print the map itself.)
