Looking for 2 br apartment

Hi all,

My wife and I are looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in the area surrounding Davis Square (Medford Hillside preferably, but also Arlington, Winter Hill, Magoun, etc.) to rent starting in September 2014. We have a small, well-behaved dog (under 20 lbs.) and are expecting a newborn baby in the fall. If you have any leads or are aware of any apartments coming up for rent that fit this criteria (we're willing to pay market value, but we've had difficultly finding available units) please get in touch. I sincerely with you the best of luck. When my spouse and I were in a similar situation (minus the dog and aiming close to Davis) 3.5 years ago, we ended up buying because it turned out to be cheaper than the market rents for what we were looking for. And prices have gone up a lot since then. Hopefully you'll find what you need. The larger radius should make it easier, anyway.

Oh, good point. I recently referred a client there and they were pretty impressed. It's definitely a different level of pricing, though.

I should have specified. We're looking to pay mid-range market value rather than high end. Somewhere in the $1700 - $2100 range (which probably isn't tenable for Davis Square, but I think would be possible for Medford/Arlington)

I am curious what market value in the "general" Somerville area is- where it doesn't seem to be the worst scenario to be a mile from any given square now. Looking around at listing's ( not for 2 beds though) I have found 4 bed/2 baths to be anywhere from 2800-4200? A very wide price range and I cannot tell what determines the difference whether it be quality of property itself or the given area.

Our place is for rent, a little higher than your budget, but lots of room and I'm betting our landlord (a friend) would consider a small dog. It's 2+ bedrooms (2 large, one smaller that makes a great office) with washer/dryer in unit, etc.
