ISO Classroom Furniture & Books

I'm getting my own classroom this year after being a long-term sub for 2 years (I teach middle school math and English) and I'm looking for furniture and books to fill my room.

I'm primarily looking for a bookcase/bookshelf (my school doesn't have a library for the middle schoolers...!), a fun patterned area rug, and a cushioned bench with storage underneath. I am also seeking middle school appropriate books to fill the bookcase (chapter books).

Hi Sungold,

I do have some bookshelves and also may have some chapter books. Do you also need supplies such as scissors, tape,rulers, markers,etc? I have a bunch of that stuff I am trying to recycle.

Have you thought of using a website like Donorschoose to stock your classroom library? Having new books that you choose based on your kids' specific interests and reading levels can make a big difference compared to having a random selection of second-hand books.

If you have a budget to select specific books, I cannot recommend Tuesdays at the Castle and its sequel Wednesdays in the Tower highly enough.
