Working fire: Mass Ave southbound closed from bike path to at least Norris St [7:10pm 9/27]

There is (or was as of 5 minutes ago) a working fire on the east side of Mass Ave between Dudley and Alberta Terr; Mass Ave southbound is closed to traffic of all kinds from Cameron Ave to at least Norris Street.

Must be a pretty big fire, the air's quite smoky where I live. (near Hodgkins-Curtin Park)

Huh, when I drove up Russell St. after just coming from the direction of Walden St., I was sure I smelled something burning, and not in a homey-fireplace kind of way. That was around 6:00-6:15, I think. But I couldn't see anything from my vantage point at the time. I'm sorry to find out that it was what I thought it was. :(

I just went by to see what had happened. Kitchen fire at Curry n Wok (the latest thing in the high-turnover spot between the Korean grocery and the real estate office - previously Copacabana, Garden of Eat-in, Good Food Cafe), put down pretty quickly. No other businesses seemed to be affected. Curry n Wok looked open but I couldn't tell if it was actually operational or just dealing with the aftermath.

A sign says it's closed due to water damage but will reopen on Tuesday 10/7.
