The former Eleni of New York tailor shop storefront (259 Elm St, just west of Diesel Cafe) has a paper sign announcing Beyond Vape. I know nothing more.

This is a nicotine shop...

This is a smoke shop/smoking lounge that features e-cigarettes, hookas, and other "smokeless" nicotine products. It a hugely bad idea for Davis Square. While not quite as bad as a marijuana dispensary, it still generates little economic or social value for our community and does nothing for anyone not addicted to nicotine. Did the ZBA or City really approve this?

If you aren't going to Jack's in Porter, you're doing it wrong Ron.

This was exactly my thought as well. The old dog shop that sold hookahs in their basement was closed for selling paraphanelia (which this shop will be doing as well), why is the ZBA allowing this to come in & fighting Crunch (which is a business promoting health & healthy lifestyles)?

This shop does not sell paraphernalia. It seems they are only selling personal vaporizers for e-liquids. Nothing here is usable for illegal substances. They don't sell dry herb or wax vaporizers. They don't sell anything related to smoking. They were actively promoting reducing nicotine while I was visiting. I would recommend doing some research into this place as they look to be a part of our community. I made further comments on my visit below.

I've visited the shop, and it is not a smoke shop or lounge. It does not feature hookas. It only features personal vaporizers for liquid with or without nicotine. While they do have liquid that contains nicotine, they also sell nicotine-free juices and chatting with the people behind the counter, many of them prefer the nicotine-free juices. There is a strong vibe of anti-smoking, getting off of cigarettes. I heard many conversations with customers about helping stop smoking, and how to step down your nicotine. I think there is a positive social value here, and being open to new information is helpful. I don't think I would be a customer here, but having checked it out I no longer have any negative feelings or concerns.
