This has been going around Facebook among a lot of my friends recently:
One friend said someone contacted the Somerville Police, who responded that the person in the photograph is not anyone who works for the Somerville Police, and doesn't appear to be wearing a police uniform of any sort at all. Though if he was impersonating a police officer they'd like to know.
Anyone here know anything about this incident?
- This just happened in Davis Square station: this cop was following a black kid and when the kid (who did nothing), asked him why, he said "what, are you gonna say 'hands up don't shoot'?"

Date: 2014-12-30 07:05 am (UTC)As soon as I saw this post, I contacted the OP. He confirmed it did happen. He contacted the MBTA to report the situation. As far as I know, nothing has happened.
As for whether or not the person who yelled at the young man in question is a cop or not, it may have been a misunderstanding. The person who yelled was a T employee and at the least should be contacted by his superiors to follow up. I have tweeted at the MBTA several times about this situation and have not gotten a response.
Hope this helps.
