hello somervillians-

i will be moving right near davis square in approximately two weeks, and i have a few questions:

what is your favorite sushi restaurant in the area?

are there any non-permit parking areas in close proximity (i will have out of state plates and need to change them to get somerville parking after i move)?

what is the most prevalent bank in the area (i'll need to switch that too)?

what, in your opinion, is the best thing about living near davis square?

I heartily second Redbones. A friend of mine was somewhere in Canada, ran into some people from Texas, and mentioned he lived in Somerville. They said "Ooh, where Redbones is?" That's some good BBQ if even folks from Texas love it. Get the BBQ Belt plate, it's about 10 pounds of meat (with beans and cole slaw buried somewhere underneath) for $15 -- I usually take home about 2/3 of it.

Yeah, I've eaten Texas BBQ in Austin and Amarillo, and can say that Redbones matches up quite nicely.

They also have the lunchtime "all you can eat", which is a sampler plate of leftovers from the night before. I think with ice tea and tip it's about $15 as well, and perfect for when the weather turns nippy and a big lunch is needed.
