Update for cyclists:

"Construction on the pathway between Harvey Street and the Alewife MBTA Station began August 1. The pathway will be closed to pedestrian traffic throughout the month of August, and will re-open, Wednesday, September 7 by 5PM. The opening date was pushed back in order to allow for the finished pathway surface and landscaping to be completed. The first high school football game of the season will take place at Russell Field on September 9."

Yay! thanks for the update, though it'll probably be a long while before I manage to increase my runs to that length...

rindge is not nice at all.. heading to davis sq, i've been cutting left under the Rt 2 bridge to that alwewife exit road. following the sidewalk right along that leads to be able to turn right the next street (Whitmore Ave) which has little traffic, at least on the weekend. If you follow that road you'll see those greenhouses that are on the north side of the path. you can get on the path by going to the corner of the parking lot just before the greenhouses, across the road from Madison Ave. street/photo map (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=cambridge,+ma&ll=42.396523,-71.136861&spn=0.009063,0.011762&t=h&hl=en)
