Our front concrete stairs are breaking off in chunks and then as powder after our record winter, Can you tell me what type tradeperson  repairs this type stairs and can you recommend anyone who does this type of work?  I am glad to see the stairs without a coating of snow!

Depending on how much of the steps are damaged, based on the fact that it's turning into powder most tradespeople will want to replace the whole front steps. The powdering might mean that the concrete never was mixed properly in the first place. However if you want it patched, most handipeople will be able to do the job. You also might want to do it yourself; I had some front brick steps that needed patching and one small bag of quickrete (home depot) did the job. Beware: quickrete does set up quickly! I lost a bucket because I wasn't fast enough.

The powdering might also be due to using salt or ice-melt on the stairs - it's not good for concrete.

I suppose it depends how bad it is but I'd be calling a stone mason. Masons do concrete and bricks too. At my old house we had the same guys replace our front steps as had repointed our chimney years before.

If it's not that bad though, a general handyman will likely be cheaper.
