WalkBoston has an upcoming walking event from near Sullivan over to Assembly Row. You can walk with a group, hear some presentations by local civic groups, and learn more about their activites. If you are a pedestrian around here, you know how important it is to have advocates and allies working on related issues.
WalkBoston also showed up at snow shoveling hearings, by the way. They really walk-the-talk about pedestrian access and safety.

We hope you'll join WalkBoston and many Somerville co-hosts for a FREE point to point walk after work in Somerville on April 28th! The walk will start on Lower Broadway at the intersection of Mt Vernon Street and Broadway - steps from the Sullivan Square MBTA Station - and finish at Slumbrew's American Fresh Taproom at Assembly Row, steps from the Assembly MBTA Station. Groups will head out onto the route as they are filled, with the last group departing around 6pm (The 1.5mile route will take about an hour including the 5 speaker location stops).
Along the way, you'll have a chance to hear representatives from groups like East Somerville Main Streets, Friends of the Community Path, the City of Somerville, Federal Realty (and more) talk about the impact they are making in the community, and opportunities they see for more improvements!
