Medford (MA)'s Annual Spring Plant Sale!!

Sat. May 16                                                  9-noon, rain or shine

Medford Library Parking Lot                    111 High Street

Some of the plants included in this years selection are:  perennials (e.g., phlox, irises, sedum) annuals (e.g., coleus, canna), houseplants, small shrubs, small Kousa dogwoods, groundcovers (e.g., hostas, sweet woodruff), cherry tomato seedlings, and much more!  A major fundraiser for the garden club, this sale funds the club's public education programs, its beautification projects at the West Medford Post Office, the Library, and also community outreach such as donations to the Medford Historicial Society garden, and various public school gardening projects.

Sadly, the group is very un-Internet-y. They meet in Medford's library on the nth Thursday of every non-summer month. I can hook you up with the ringleaders if you like. They send out a monthly 8.5x11 one sheet "newsletter" via snail mail. The newsletter gives contact info for a woman, her physical address, her telephone, and her email for membership info.

By the way, if you're coming to the sale on Saturday, get there EARLY, since last year all the "good" plants were sold out by about 10:30, but the best ones were snatched in the first 10 minutes of the sale.
