I tagged this tailor, which will lead you to some very old posts on the subject such as this in 2012 and that in 2007. One of the old posts said that Jack didn't do this kind of work, but maybe he does now.
I can second the Porter Square Dry Cleaners. They do tailoring and the guy is a genuinely nice, friendly person. I almost don't want to share this information because I feel like its a little known gem, but they hemmed a wedding gown with train and two layers, a top lace and under silk, with lace running across the bottom so it had to be cut off, hemmed, and sewn back on, for $30. That's THIRTY DOLLARS. In under a week. This month! During wedding/prom season! When I had yelped and researched and expected to happily pay 3-5 times that and wait many more weeks! OK the secret's out!
Doubtless, Jack Papazian!
