7-Eleven buys Tedeschi's

The national 7-Eleven chain has bought the local Tedeschi's chain.

From the news report, it's not clear whether the Tedeschi name will disappear, and whether the merger will result in store closures. 7-Eleven currently has a store at Mass Ave and Day Street, three blocks from the Tedeschi store in Davis Square.

When 7-Eleven bought the White Hen Pantry chain a few years ago, they closed White Hen's Ball Square store, a couple blocks from 7-Eleven's store at Broadway and Cedar.

Hell, I'm still sad about the White Hen that used to be where 7-Eleven is now, even though that was years ago. You could go there at 3 am and have a sandwich custom-made for you.
