Dog Willing / Pet Republic (depending on what you're looking for) on Mass Ave in North Cambridge. The owner and other trainers there are are extremely knowledgeable, are active in local events, and employ only the safest and most responsible methods, while communicating them clearly to the client.

I would just watch re-runs of Cesar Millan's Dog Whisperer and read his book(s). It's not just training the dog, but training you and your family. It takes a lot of time and patience, and you have to be the one to properly teach your dog when he/she is doing something he/she shouldn't be doing.
