To our friends and neighbors,
The rumor out there is true. Mardi and I are going to retire and pass TAGS to a new owner. For the past three years we have been doing due dilligence with some individuals who approached us with an interest to buy TAGS. In the end we have chosen and individual who, in her words, “Loves Hardware”. Senneth Berrier has three very impressive Ace stores in Westford, Acton and Newton.
We will miss the daily conversations with all of you as to what we are doing right and what might need tweaking. I have even heard from a few who still claim that I am not running the store like my father. In 1998 we took a major step investing to present to you a store that we felt represented what our market needed. New enviornmentally correct and efficient HVAC systems, an elevator to insure that there were no barriers for any one and a host of embellishments to make your shopping experience productive and fun. The popcorn, lollipops and dog biscuits were an addition to make you know just how pleased we are to have you come in for a simple fastener, a housewares gadget or just to talk. TAGS is and will be your store and under Senneth’s guidance will grow and offer products and services that we only dreamed of. Senneth understands the importance of customer service, which is very evident in her other stores.
This is not a complete goodbye. Mardi and I still live down the street and will continue to be dedicated to the continued integrity of our neighborhood. We have made many friendships through PSNA and hope to continue join you to resolve future challenges.
In November we will once again hold our annual Customer Appreciation Weekend, November 21 & 22, only this year it will be a chance for Mardi and I to greet you and thank you for your friendship and patronage. We will also take the the oppurtunity to introduce you to Senneth so that you may see why we think our succession plan will really benefit the neighborhood.
Until we meet, thank you for the support you have given TAGS during the past 60 years and thank you for your friendship.
Si & Mardi
