Davis Square Location of StellaBella Toys Is Closing

The 196 Elm Street location is the only one of their four that is closing.  A sign in the window says that everythng (except gift certificates and shipping/handling) in the store is now 20% off.

That's really a hard location for retail like that -- I'm impressed they stayed open so long. Especially with Henry Bears' park right in Porter. (And these days, there's very little to differentiate any toy store -- it's all the same stuff everywhere.)

Eesh, I remember KnuckleBones didn't manage to stay open very long there either. :\ I remember being surprised StellaBella was still going.

If I remember correctly, KnuckleBones closed partially because of complaints from abutters about noise, since a major part of their business was on-site rambunctious playtime. But that really isn't a great retail location, either, sadly.

Yes, Knucklebones was forced to close due to an asshole neighbor who didn't like kids playing in the yard during the day.

Why did they move from Mass Ave? Seems like that location was better. The Davis Square location they're in is just not very amenable to business.

Stellabella left the Mass. Ave. building because they knew it would soon be torn down.
