Does anyone have a recommendation for a chiropractor easily reached from Davis? I have the consolidated health plan thing through school and there are no chiropractors in somerville that are covered, but there are a few in Cambridge (Jayne Jarger and Jonathan D Simon), and a few in Boston (Gregory J Gorman and Jonathan Melman). Any experience or knowledge about any of those? Also, if anyone has experience with Consolidated Health Plan and can help me figure out how this all works, that would be hugely appreciated. I previously had a PPO with tons of options for providers.

Dr. Simon

Dr. Simon is an excellent and very thorough doctor. He is definitely a bit quirky though and not what you might expect from a "traditional" chiropractor. His main schtick is (something to the effect of) that in today's society we use our bodies in ways they are not intended to be used. For instance, sitting at a desk or in a lecture for hours creates a lot of "static" energy that is not good for us. He is all about creating more "dynamic" energy in our lives by moving around more, etc.

He will do some traditional treatments and adjustments, but if you are going to like Dr. Simon you will need to buy into (or at least respect/appreciate) some of the broader lifestyle issues he preaches. And oh yes, he truly is a preacher! ;)

I hope that is helpful... overall, like I said he is an excellent doctor and I have a lot of respect for him.

a bus up Mass Ave will take you to Dr. Debra Byer (http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypMap.py?Pyt=Typ&tuid=25732621&ck=1371768229&tab=B2C&ycat=8106984&city=Arlington&state=MA&uzip=02476&country=us&msa=1120&cs=4&ed=ovN5A61o2TyjVt92lMqx3IVCxc7GNeb9jwKnsewzVhuq&stat=:pos:2:regular:regT:10:fbT:1). she specializes in low-impact chiropractic; in addition she does acupuncture and Chinese herbs (though i haven’t had any personal experience with those modalities).

i particularly like seeing her because she’s willing to explain to me what she’s doing and why (and, needless to say, because she fixes my body after i break it by spending too much time at a desk and in the car).

When you say low-impact, do you mean I wouldn't get all cracked? Because I do love the cracking and it really does help.:)

dr. malouf does that. he'll put heat on my back, then when the muscles are a bit loose he'll put on those little electrode-thingies. then he gives me a massage and then cracks everything. it's awesome.

Try Dr. Pellicani at Davis Square Chriopractic - http://home.tiac.net/~chironow/

Very easy to access from Davis Square and he incorporates heat and massage into his treatments. He's very nice.

Hello there. If you have not been able to find a chiropractor, here is the one I go to. http://www.manta.com/c/mm4szql/lupo-chiropractic-life-center
Joseph does a lot of work on me, but his whole staff is amazing!
