Red Line and Longfellow Bridge closed every weekend in January

The Red Line will be closed between Kendall and Park street stations for every remaining Saturday and Sunday in January, because of Longfellow Bridge construction. Shuttle buses will replace trains between Kendall and Park. More info here.

In addition, the bridge will be closed to all car and bicycle traffic from Friday at 11 pm to Monday at 5 am each weekend. Bicycles and pedestrians in both directions will have to share the north-side sidewalk. More info here.

Oh blech. Such a nuisance. And adds extra time to one's trip. However, I have to say I'm glad that they're doing, or at least working on, these repairs while the weather is relatively good. I.e. before they have to try and do it in blizzard-land. *knocks on wood*
