Passport photos

Errico Studio has been my go-to place for quality passport photographs, but Yelp tells me it has closed. When did that happen?!

So, where can I get good passport photos done in the neighborhood these days? (A place other than CVS, because the photos they take are pretty bad...)

In case you don't find anything in the Davis neighborhood, head over to Marfione Studio (http://www.marfionestudio.com/) just outside Union Square — they do great passport photos. They're particularly known for seamlessly wrangling babies and toddlers for them, which is non-trivial and three years ago took us about five minutes. If they can do THAT, they can handle you. :)

I had mine done recently at a CVS. Meh. Previous one I had done at AAA. My standards are low. But I get in and out of countries just fine.

I was pushed to do it recently by this NYT article on passports. Mine had just expired and I didn't realize it. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/31/travel/passport-renewal.html

Turn-around was reasonable though.

mine expired in March, and I've been meaning to send in the renewal, but getting my passport photo is what has held me up for a few months now. I'll probably just suck it up and pay the high cost of going to CVS or UPS store. I had hoped to take a digital photo at home, have my husband crop it to 2x2 and put 6 copies of it into a 4x6 photo, then just get the photo printed at cvs kiosk. But have we done that yet? no. :)

I hear you, the State Dept's standards are low, anyway. The first time when I got my passport back, my photo was so over-processed, that my skin was a non-human deep orange color, more intense orange than Trump-orange. I had to send it back, no one would have believed it was me, or that was a legit passport. They re-issued it, much better.

Luckily my passport is still valid, I need the photos for an international driving permit.

Yeah, I've had passport photos done at the UPS store at Somerville Ave/Central St and was pleased with them.

For the sake of anyone looking at this later - I got a good set taken at New England Photo in Arlington Center. This was convenient for me since the Arlington post office is set up to take passport applications, unlike the Day Street office.

No ideas on passport photos, but they've been gone for about two years--they were the owners of the building (which my business is in), which was sold two years ago sometime in the spring.

Last time I renewed my passport, I had my picture taken at the Central Sq Post Office. Came out fine.
