Ward 6 school committee member Paul Bockelman hired as Amherst town manager

Story here. I think this will mean a special election to replace him on the School Committee, as he would be stepping down with more than half of his current term unserved.

Yes, the details of the special election have not been set, but Paul has announced that he will step down from school committee. He is not commuting 2 hours each way to Amherst from Somerville and coming back in time for school commitee meetings, drat. ;-) (I also believe that for now he's still going to be spending some time in Somerville, though not enough to stay on the school committee - perhaps enough to run into him at Diesel on a weekend once in a while.)

He's been a great contributor to the school committee and I am sad to see him go.

Has anyone heard of anyone who is thinking of seeking nomination to replace him?
