Hey, Everyone! A couple of nights ago, I walked past Mint Indian Eatery on Broadway near Powderhouse, and I noticed that they were open!

I decided to try the place tonight and, over all, I really enjoyed the experience! Sadly, several items I wanted to try weren't available yet, but I'm told the full menu should be available soon.

I ended up trying the mango lassi, the veg pakoras and the samosa chaat. Here's my takeaway:

- The mango lassi - Just your standard sweet yogurt and mango drink -- no frills of "different" signature ingredients. It's good. :) I hope they offer more lassi varieties in the future.

- The veg pakoras - They're a little on the bland side. I know the restaurant can't make them too spicy as they have to appeal to a wide audience, but I think they'd benefit from a little more salt in the batter. (I mentioned this to the owner since he requested feedback.) Also, this place is called "Mint"! Where's the green chutney?

- The samosa chaat -- This was excellent. I definitely recommend it. You won't find this on most Indian restaurant menus in Greater Boston. Also, bonus: THERE'S the green chutney. :)

I haven't been, but I have a neighbor who's Indian, and he gave it VERY high marks. So I have high hopes and will have to try it soon.

Thanks for posting this -- but please, no need to post "friends-only" or "members-only". We like to see everything here be public.

It sounds cool. I will have to look up just where it is. I think when it was last spoken of, I did check the address and it was too far off the beaten track for me--I don't drive and need stuff to not involve multiple bus transfers.

Nice photos. The samosa chaat does indeed look awesome!

Their menu is here (http://www.minteatery.com/menu.html), and it sounds good! Unique stuff that's not anywhere else around here. Although the samosa chaat isn't on there :)

Cool -- this actually looks more like an accurate menu:

I tried a Kati roll for lunch today. it was tasty, and i will be going back. Glad to see that it is a different spin than the usual lunch buffets that there are plenty of in greater davis.

I'm not sure if anyone will come back and see this post, but wanted to add our data point. we got take out for dinner tonight. We got the samosa chaat, the papdi chaat, an order of chicken momo, an order of buffalo momo, and one Kati roll (chicken tikka masala). All of it was really good. We thought the flavors were pleasantly strong, but not overpowering. The samosa chaat was a warm dish, the papdi chaat was a cold dish, and they complimented each other well. One kid devoured the momo, the other thought it was too spicy (she's less adventurous in her eating). The kati roll was small, but had good flavor.

We'll definitely eat here again. And I hope they set up a tent/booth at events like Artbeat. This food seemed more conducive to events like that than Diva's offerings.
