If you support Pat Jehlen and have some time before 8pm tonight to step over to her headquarters in Davis square and help with some last minute Get Out The Vote work, please read behind the cut. Evidently voter turnout in today's special election is very poor, and the race could potentially be decided by a few votes.
The word from the Pat Jehlen for State Senate campaign is that voter turnout today is exceptionally low, much lower than they had expected. The race could be determined by a very small number of votes. Pat is a strong backer of equal marriage rights, and we must ensure her election to the Senate. Pat needs your help. First, the polls are open until 8:00 tonight, so be sure to vote. If you have friends or family in the district, give them a call to remind them to vote.
Because of the low turnout, the Jehlen campaign is doing an emergency, final get-out-the-vote effort from 5:00 to 8:00 this evening. If you can spare an hour or two, please simply show up at the Jehlen headquarters in the basement of the Social Security Building in Davis Square (240 Elm Street, Suite B1). For more information, you can call the campaign at 617-628-1990.
Even if you can't volunteer, please vote if you're in the Senate district formerly held by Charles Shannon. It's a shame that voter turnout would be so low in such a politically active district.
