We were told that someone jumped in front of a train at Park; hence the delays on the Alewife side of the Red Line. Anyone know more?

Over in b0st0n, they just passed along the message that someone was stuck under a train in Park Street. Which sounds less like a jumper and more like an accident (I'm being optimistic here).

I don't know about that, but there was a lot of smoke and a train taken out of service at Harvard, about an hour ago.

I was on the train right behind you. We were held up for about 10 minutes, and when I got off at Harvard, the station was full of smoke. Rather scary...

i was there during the evacuation and saw the guy on the stretcher being carried out. he was dead, i'm pretty sure, as he sat in that ambulance for over a half hour before they drove off leisurely.

The MBTA website says that a woman and a female MBTA employee both fell ill at the same time as the accident.

There is now also a short article on Boston.com about the incident at Park Street.

Man struck by train at Park Street (http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/09/30/man_struck_by_train_at_park_street/)

I was also on the train that caught fire - it was just after they announced that normal service would resume. It was a sign that I should not come in to work, but here I am...
