Mew... can you help?

I'm helping a co-worker here at the publishing house find homes for these sweet kittens and their mommy.

Pretty Mom was a pregnant stray taken in by a nice lady. She had her kittens at the lady's house.

The calico is a girl.

The Black kitty is a boy.

The lady has fostered them and cares deeply for them, but she can't keep them. They've had all their shots, I believe. They're very socialized and adore attention and laps.

Maybe he could be your Halloween cat, year-round.

Can you feel the love?

If you're interested, drop me an e-mail at moonstonewater at yahoo.com and I'll send you the woman's contact information.

Is that a "thumb" on the boy?

I can't tell if he has a thumb or not . . .

I'd be scared of a cat with an opposable appendage. They might start figuring out the whole "doorknob" thing.

Haven't yet seen or heard of a "thumb" cat who had opposability . . .
Just an extra digit . . .

oh, OK. I've always just thought of that as an extra toe. That said, polydactyl cats seem to be unusually common in New England. Not sure why.
More about polydactyl cats than you ever wanted to know: http://www.messybeast.com/poly-cats.html (mentions the prevalence of polydactyl cats in the Boston area)

I just found the messy beast site, and, evidently, there HAVE been poly cats with opposability . . .

OMG, they're going to take over the world. Once they get done opening and eating all the gooshyfood.

I think I heard that it was Ben Franklin's fault that there are so many polydactyl cats in NE. He was enamored with them and first brought them here. Could be viscious rumour though :)

The story around these parts is that ship's captains based out of Boston thought they were lucky for some reason:

My little brat kittens don't need an opposable thumb...as long as their is toilet paper or napkins to be shredded on the other side of the door they will find a way in there. When it comes to paper products, all of their efforts can be filed under "where there is a will, there is a way."

If they learn how to make fire, we're all screwed.
